What we keep in memory
is ours unchanged forever.
Gone, but not forgotten.

Reba Gale Cerra, 63, surrounded by family at home, passed from this life to her eternal heavenly home on December 8, 2020. She resided in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Reba was born on July 25, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri to Lester and Myrtle Burton. She graduated from Truman High School in 1975 and later went on to work at Fellowship of Christian Athletes. During her time at FCA she made lasting friendships while traveling and sharing the love of the Lord.

Reba met the love of her life, Joe Cerra, and they were married on November 17, 1984. They shared a wonderful life of 36 years of marriage. She thrived as a homemaker and teacher of their children. She homeschooled them for many years and loved being with her family. Her grandsons treasured their Mimi as she was a part of their everyday life. Reba remained active in their local church, Raintree Community Church, teaching Sunday school and serving many for more than 30 years. Throughout her life she had a servant’s heart helping in ministries and on missions trips.

She faced a difficult diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer with grace and strength. She never gave up as she pursued treatment and trusted in her Savior through it all.

She is survived by her adoring husband, Joe Cerra, three loving children, Mallory Champion (Matthew), Audrey Brown (Greg), and Andrew Cerra, grandsons Griffin Brown, Titus Brown, and baby boy Brown expected in April, sisters Connie Reneau (David), Judy Miller, Cheryl Wooldridge, and Anita Ogle (Terry) and dozens of nieces and nephews who were special to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lester and Myrtle Burton and sister Linda Zimmerman.

Reba had a smile that lit up the room and constantly cared for others. She trusted in the Lord as her Savior and is assured of her rest in heaven. She spent her time on Earth placing focus on what mattered while keeping an eternal perspective. And now we look forward to celebrating with her again.
