Elizabeth S. Barnes “Libby” (Cass) Barnes, 53, born in Kansas City, MO, January 8, 1956, passed away at her home on May 25, 2009. Birth parents were George “Morgie” and Claire “Janie” Humbird. Libby was adopted and raised by her uncle & aunt Dewey and Edith Cass. Preceding her in death were her birth parents, her adoptive parents, 2 brothers, Millard Humbird and George Humbird Jr and sister Sarah Trojan. She is survived by her husband Allen Barnes, sons Brandon (Monica) Cass and Christopher Barnes, one grand daughter, Maci Ann Cass, two brothers Ron Humbird (Barb) and John Humbird, sisters Judy McCoy and Shirley Schumaker. Cremation. A memorial gathering will be held 6 to 8pm Thursday May 28th at Blue Ridge Assembly of God Church 740 Blue Ridge Blvd Kansas City, MO. Casual dress. In Lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Ararat Shriners Children’s Hospital.
