Clarence Rayford “J.R.” Laquet Jr. of Independence, Mo. passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 9, 2022. He was 65. J.R. was born to Clarence and Opal Laquet on January 13, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri.

J.R. was a selfless man and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He loved his family fiercely and he never met a stranger. J.R. liked to build, paint and fix things, always looked forward to yearly float trips and would seize every opportunity to jump on his Harley and ride. His colorful personality will be missed beyond measure.

J.R. leaves behind his beloved wife, Michelle; sons, Josh and Steven Laquet; step-daughter, Kaylee Laquet; mother, Opal Laquet; sister, Linda Reeves; his furry companion, Deogee and many other family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
