Sr. Corporal David Myers, 57, of Waxahachie passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014. He was born Dec. 7, 1956 in Independence, Mo.
Sr. Corporal Myers worked out of the traffic division of the Dallas Police Department. “Big Dave” loved to fish and he always looked forward to the spring, when the crappie were biting. Riding his motorcycle was his passion, and he was amazed that he was paid by the police department to ride his motorcycle. Most of all, he loved spending time with his large family and great friends.
David was preceded by his parents, James and Darlene Myers; sister, Christine Laws; father-in-law, Eddie Elliott; brother-in-law Gary Elliott; and the family dog, Dobie.
He is survived by his wife, Sherrie Myers; his children, Jason and Lexie Buchanan, David and Cristy Myers, Darrin and Jayme Myers; his mother-in-law, Gloria Elliott; his brothers, Kenny and Jaime Myers; his sister, Janice Cramer; his grandchildren, Tyler, Sidney Micaiah, Asa Buchanan, Kailey, Colin, and Ellie Myers, Mikaela Barnett; Goliath (Go Go) the current family dog; numerous nieces and nephews, and adopted kids and grandkids from all over.
Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Cowboy Church of Ellis County in Waxahachie. Interment will follow with honors at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
