Deanna Bates, 66, of Independence, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024. Born October 3,1957 in Independence, she was the daughter of Don and Kay Skinner.

Deanna graduated from Truman High School with Recognition of Outstanding Scholarship and went on to pursue a degree in Pharmacy at the University of Missouri Kansas City. After graduation, Deanna began her 25-year career as a Pharmacist at Don’s Pharmacy in Kansas City. Deanna loved music and her passion was the flute. She played the flute in high school band and throughout her life in many other local community bands. Deanna married James Bates December 9, 1995.

Deanna was preceded in death by her husband, James; her brother Don Kevin Skinner; and nephew Cody Michael Skinner. She is survived by her mother; father; and brothers, Brian and Kurt Skinner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Deanna dearly loved her many friends and family and her many friends and family dearly loved her. She will be missed. We are in the process of planning a grave side service for April 27th.
